The enactment of the Choice of Fund legislation means that since 1 July 2005 the majority of Australian employees have been able to choose which fund their superannuation contributions are paid into.
Eligible employees should have received a standard choice form from their employer to choose which superannuation fund you wish to have contributions paid on your behalf.
Choice is good news for Australians because it means that wherever they choose to work in Australia, they can continue to choose and remain a member of their current super fund. No need to worry about joining a new fund, paying exit fees or consolidating your accounts.
