THE 2010 RSA AND CREDIT UNION CONFERENCE

Thursday 9 September 2010, Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The superannuation industry is undergoing rapid changes. “Change” can be both a threat and an opportunity for Credit Unions. “Superannuation” can be an opportunity for Credit Unions. The recent recommendations by the Super System Review (“Cooper”) have the potential to significantly impact RSAs. Therefore, it is important that Credit Unions are prepared for the challenges ahead and can adapt their product strategies accordingly.
 

As administrator for 6 of the 9 RSA providers, Financial Synergy’s Aquipt Division has recognised the need to provide a forum for relevant industry participants to actively engage with each other and openly discuss these challenges and opportunities. The conference will provide a unique opportunity to discuss specific Credit Union industry issues with a full day of discussion, knowledge sharing and key note speakers, not to mention a behind-the-scenes tour of the famous MCG, including a walk out onto the ground.
 

Key note speakers include Jon Linehan, CEO of Defence Credit and Anthony Wamsteker, ex-CEO of Members Equity and current CEO of Daintree Superannuation. David Knox, Senior Partner at Mercer, Senior Actuary in Australia and National Leader for Research will deliver an insightful speech on the Cooper Review – post election & beyond. Tom Collins, a noted industry observer, writer and participant, will outline a superannuation solution for Credit Unions.

Mothers' Day Classic - 10 May 2009, National Event

Financial Synergy is proud to announce that once again we will be a key sponsor of the Hobart Mothers' Day Classic, which is taking place on Mothers' Day, Sunday 10 May 2009.

As well as sponsoring the Hobart event, we will be entering teams in the Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney events. Financial Synergy employees, clients, partners and friends are encouraged to get involved.

This annual event, founded and organised by Women in Super, is a major fund contributor to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, a not for profit organisation dedicated to the research and development of breast cancer causes and treatments.

In 2007, Financial Synergy staff raised $3000. For 2008, our staff raised $3500. This year’s goal (2009) is to raise $4000.
